This season on Castle, Rick and Kate have celebrated many milestones, but the biggest is still yet to come: Valentine’s Day! The most romantic day of the year will be filled with twists and turns for the loving couple, including an unfortunate switcheroo.
No, Caskett doesn’t head to a key party — we’re talking about some gift hijinks! We recently reported that there will be a “subtle competition” with their present exchange, but there’s much more to the story.
"Castle picks out a wonderful gift for Kate, but it accidentally ends up in someone else's hands,” Nathan Fillion told TV Guide.
Fingers crossed that Rick’s gift doesn’t end up in Captain Gates’s hands! (Or worse yet, Alexis or Martha’s.) However, Nathan adds that fans shouldn’t worry — love will still be in the air for our favorite couple.
"Things get very awkward and sticky, but ultimately fans should find it romantic,” he concluded.

"[Show boss] Andrew Marlowe said we can only do this once, so we're going to do it now. It's very bold, what he's doing".
